Buff Monster
Buff Monster

Buff Monster

Buff Monster makes paintings about pink things. The brightly colored landscapes of nipples, mounds, clouds are finely painted on found metal. Ice cream, heavy metal, porn, Los Angeles and graffiti are the main inspirations for his work. The paintings are fun and ridiculous though clearly created with intention and care to detail. Pink as a color and an idea is key to the work, and his phrase "Pink is Power" makes that clear. More at: buffmonster.com

Chris of Robots Will Kill

Robots Will Kill is an arts site dedicated to community and exposure for artists/media often disregarded by the mainstream art world. Set in motion in 2001, RWK is the brain-child of Chris Chillemi. Rather than featuring his own work exclusively, he opened it up to allow the possibility for it to become whatever it evolved into being. At the time that this is being written, the site is showing work of over 3500 artists from around the world. more at: robotswillkill.com

Shepard Fairey OBEY GIANT
Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey

In 1989 Shepard Fairey created the "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign, later to become simply OBEY GIANT which is in Fairey's words, an "experiment in phenomenology." The experiment both employs and simultaneously mocks propaganda-style techniques used by mass media to sell products and influence thinking.

His book, "Supply and Demand. The Art of Shepard Fairey" was released in July 2006. More at: obeygiant.com

Nate Nolting Withremote
Withremote

Withremote

Inspired by rock art, graffiti, and stencil art, Nate Nolting's painting combine design and media in unexpected ways. Through his work Nolting employs the philosophy of phenomenology, in which the viewer draws the meaning of the work from their past experiences and view of the world around them. Nolting appropriates the rawness and honesty of American pop-culture and Street Art, blending it with a certain complexity of form and design. More at: withremote.com
